Iguá was born in 2017 with a commitment to being the best sanitation company in Brazil. Since then, we have been present in 39 municipalities with the sole objective of working to bring sanitation to the populations served and help the country achieve universal water and sewage services.

With 15 concessions and three public-private partnerships (PPPs), we are part of the lives of communities of all sizes. This condition gives us knowledge about different sanitation realities in the country and enables us to overcome the most diverse technical and operational challenges. For us, working in water and sewage treatment is more than a business activity. It is a large-scale commitment to life, people, the environment, partners and sustainable development in Brazil. Every year, we invest about 5% of our revenues in initiatives to accelerate the transformation of the sector and the universalization of water and sewage services in Brazil. We are committed to creating and introducing innovative solutions in order to bring to the sanitation sector initiatives that are efficient, agile, and that improve the delivery of our services.
  • Sustainability is the basis: All our actions are conducted so as to ally the business’ economic viability to the quality and efficiency of the work, respect for people and the environment. To ensure a sustainable future, we act with protagonism based on four axes: water security, efficiency in water production and distribution, responsibility in sewage collection and treatment, and respect for people. Our brand and the origin of the name Iguá

Iguá’s brand expresses the company’s connection with Brazil and the environment. Our logo is composed by the name Iguá and a stylized wave in three colors: red symbolizes the earth, green represents life, and blue refers to water. Our brand establishes an association with nature and Brazilian roots.

Our name is a direct reference to the company’s business universe and to elements of Brazilianness. Indigenous-inspired, it establishes a connection with the country’s origins and its first inhabitants: in Tupi-Guarani, “ig” means water. It also reflects the essence of our work: caring for the environment and promoting sustainable development. Iguá is a combination of the word “ig” and the end of the word water.
