The key word that defines this aspect of our DNA is Innovation. We are committed to creating and implementing innovative solutions to bring to the sanitation sector efficient and agile initiatives that enhance the quality of our services.
Commitment in every drop, with a single purpose
To be the best sanitation company for Brazil
Iguá Saneamento is one of the largest sanitation companies in Brazil, operating in 121 municipalities across six states: Alagoas, Mato Grosso, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Sergipe. We provide basic sanitation services that benefit approximately 6 million people through seven concessions and three public-private partnerships.
For us, every drop of water that reaches the homes of the families we serve and every drop of treated wastewater carry a deep sense of commitment — to people’s health, to environmental preservation, and to the development of the cities where we operate. This commitment guides our daily actions and is reflected in practices that are nationally and internationally recognized, contributing to our purpose of being the best sanitation company for Brazil.
We are signatories to the UN Global Compact – Brazil Network and participate in the 2030 Movements, focusing on the universalization of sanitation, water security, CO₂ emissions reduction, increasing women in leadership positions, and transparency in management. Since 2021, we have been included in the GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) ranking, which recognizes our sustainable management practices.
In 2024, we were recognized for the eighth consecutive year as an excellent place to work by Great Place to Work (GPTW). We also achieved, for the fourth time, leadership in the sanitation, waste management, and infrastructure category of the 2024 TOP Open Corps ranking — which evaluates engagement with startups and innovation.
Also in 2024, we maintained our ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management System) and ISO 37301 (Compliance Management System) certifications, reinforcing our commitment to ethics, integrity, and the highest legal standards across all our operations.
All of this is only possible because each Iguá employee carries a daily commitment to delivering high-quality sanitation, ensuring the well-being of all our customers.

Our brand
and the origin of the name Iguá
The Iguá brand reflects the company’s connection with Brazil and the environment. Our logo features the name Iguá alongside a stylized wave in three colors: red symbolizes the earth, green represents life, and blue evokes water. Our brand creates a strong association with nature and Brazilian roots.
Our name is a direct reference to the company’s field of operation and to elements of Brazilian identity. Inspired by Indigenous culture, it connects to the country’s origins and its first peoples: in Tupi-Guarani, ig means “water.” It also embodies the essence of our work — caring for the environment and promoting sustainable development. Iguá combines the element ig with the ending of the Portuguese word água (water).
